Attend Your Appointment

Meet with your provider in-person in Eagle Lake or through secure telepsychiatry. The first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — a real conversation, not a checklist.

Your First Visit

What to expect at your
initial evaluation.

Your first appointment is designed to feel thoughtful, collaborative, and unhurried. The goal is to understand the full context of what you are experiencing before discussing recommendations or treatment options.

Comprehensive History Review

We review current symptoms, mental health and medical history, prior treatments, medications, sleep, stressors, and any relevant prior experiences — to build a complete clinical picture before anything else.

Collaborative Discussion

Care decisions are made together. We discuss your goals, concerns, previous experiences, and what type of support would realistically feel helpful and sustainable for you — not just clinically appropriate.

Clear Recommendations & Next Steps

When clinically appropriate, we discuss diagnostic impressions, treatment options, follow-up expectations, and practical next steps. Some concerns may require additional assessment, records, testing, or coordination before a final treatment plan is established.

60'
Initial evaluations last 60 minutes Standard follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Extended follow-up appointments are 45 minutes when additional time is scheduled.

The first appointment is centered on listening. Before discussing medications or treatment recommendations, the goal is to understand where you are, what you have already tried, and what kind of support would actually feel meaningful and sustainable. You do not need to prepare a perfect explanation or have everything figured out beforehand. Showing up is enough.
